Ben Loveard gets his first England cap

Ben Loveard at Irvine GC

Earlier in September Beadlow Manor made their annual trip to the Bungay Junior Open and retained the team Schwer Trophy with the successful team of Lake, Simpson and Tubridy. Over the same weekend Loveard had travelled north to secure his first England cap representing England Schools in the annual match against Scotland at Irvine GC, Ayrshire (Mon 9 Sep).

In the morning foursomes Loveard (Cardinal Newman) played with Taylor Crisp (Suffolk New School) and secured an emphatic 5&4 win. After lunch Loveard came up against a +1 player and despite a great effort he finally succumbed to a narrow 2&1 defeat but overall helping England Schools secure a 9-9 draw and retain the trophy.

Other Beadlow Manor juniors have also been involved in schools golf with Ben Smart, James Kolek and Anabella Hay representing Beds Schools in the recent McPartlin Trophy played at Bush Hill Park against Middx, Herts and Essex, helping Beds to finish second to Essex by a single point.
